Bollywood is known for its visual treatment. The songs, the dance, the drama and the backgrounds speak highly about the glamorous mainstream cinema. There are times when Bollywood inspires us to dress in a particular manner or try out a new cuisine. Bollywood has been successful in giving us serious wanderlust goals with its picturesque filming of real locations. The top ten Bollywood destinations are:

  • Goa

From Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Sagar, Bobby to Dil Chahta Hai and Finding Fanny; Goa has been a favorite location to set the movies in. Goa has been and will be a hot selling destination for Bollywood fans.  The famous road trip in Dil Chahta Hai inspired every college student to take one.

  • Manali

Naina and Bunny’s trek trip to Manali was an exhilarating scene in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. The movie’s famous scenes in the mall road, Hidimba temple, and the long treks awaken the adventurer in us. Manali has become the most preferred hill station to satiate the thirst of adventure.

  • Udaipur

The second half of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani showed the grandeur and culture of Udaipur. There are elaborate mahals and expansive lakes. There is a burst of colors in the market. Udaipur is a widely chosen destination for weddings and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani rightly shows us

  • Switzerland

Yash Chopra and his iconic movies have been widely shot in Switzerland. There is a Chopra Lake and a Chopra train in Switzerland, totally symbolic of Bollywood’s love affair with Switzerland. Every 90’s kid who grew up watching Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge wants to shiver in the snowfall in the Swiss Alps.

  • Turkey

Anybody who loves the old world charm and the architecture and landscapes longs to visit Turkey once. Ek Tha Tiger, Dil Dhadakne Do, Baby and many more movies have been shot in Turkey. Dil Dhadakne Do is widely shot in Antalya, Cappadocia, and Istanbul. The famous Hamam baths shown in the movie have caught many eyes.

  • Conoor

Kapoor & Sons is shot in the picturesque Conoor. Conoor is a small hill station near Ooty. It is not very famous. Watching the movie, everybody wanted to just get drenched in the mystical rains of Conoor. Buying a property there and using it to just relax has crossed many minds.

  • Corsica

Tamasha is the first Bollywood movie that showcased the French city Corsica. The dream is to shake a leg on ‘Matargashti’ in the gentle mountains of Corsica. Corsica has an old world charm with its historic connection with Napoleon Bonaparte. The white water leaves the fans longing to visit Corsica and dive in it.

  • Belgium

P.K was the first Bollywood movie that was shot in Belgium. The song, ‘Chaar Kadam’ is beautifully captured in the locales of Bruges, Belgium. The alleys, architecture, landscape and refreshing environs make you want to pack your bags as soon as possible and fly away to Belgium.

  •  Amsterdam

Queen was a coming of age movie and the shooting was done in international cities like Paris and Amsterdam. With Amsterdam clubs playing Bollywood songs, Amsterdam becomes a top favorite. Amsterdam is a perfect getaway for an all girls trip.

  • Spain

Apparently, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara has increased the Spanish tourism revenue highly. The movie romanticizes Spain, road trips, Tomatina festival, bromance and bull running. There is food, drama, romance and adventure in Spain. Spain looks like a life-changing destination.
