Actress Shweta Tiwari’s daughter Palak is currently on cloud nine as she is all set to make her Bollywood debut with an upcoming film titled Quickie. The pretty girl will be seen opposite Taare Zameen Par star Darsheel Safary.
Talking about her debut, Palak said, “I’m really excited for this film. This is my first film and there is a lot of pressure that comes along with it. Hope it will be a great journey like I expected it to be and people will appreciate this film. I really expect this film to do well because personally, I love the story. ” She adds, “I have a great time working with Oddball Motion Pictures and Darsheel. They have been extremely helpful. Darsheel is extremely experienced. He is a great actor. He is also a great dancer so it was really fun working with him. I am really excited to start shooting for this film.”
Anshul Mohan, CMO of Oddball Motion Pictures, quipped, “Teen comedies rarely get made in India unlike in Hollywood where Teen comedies are a norm and a genre that most often or not works; even though it’s a risky genre to make in India we believe in the content and by casting teenagers for the parts we have got the feel of the film right. We have got a very fresh and a dedicated cast who were rigorously trained by theatre stalwart Ira Dubey. We plan to launch the film with a song which will be shot in September and will be made viral straight away; also the major filming chunk of the film happens in October in and around Mumbai once rains go away.”
Writer/Director Pradip Atluri added, “Teen Comedy is an unexplored and often neglected genre in India. Imagine the stories that can come out of twisted hormones, questioning minds and physically transforming chaos. Most of our so called teenage films are played by 20 to 30 plus-year-old actors. The idea was to make a teenage film with real teenagers. Darsheel and Prabhjyot fit the bill instantly, but finding the lead actress became a difficult task. We auditioned hundreds of girls and even thought that maybe we should go with an older girl. But after four months of search, we came across Palak who blew us away with her acting skills, subtle expressions, and confidence in the audition. Also, the fact that she is a teenager helps her to get into the character easily and aids her performance.”
The film tells the story of two teenage strangers to decide to have a one night stand in a city that never sleeps. It will also feature Bhavin Bhanushali, Prabhjyot Singh, Caitlin Burke, Vinny Miranda, among others. Meanwhile, Palak has already become the talk of the town with her every public appearance. The teenage girl recently passed her 10th boards with flying colors.
