Movie Review: Sultan
Cast: Salman Khan, Anushka Sharma,Randeep Hooda, Amit Sadh
Director: Ali Abbas Zafar
Sultan was the most awaited movie of the year and to say that it has lived up to its expectations will be an understatement. The movie has surpassed all the expectations.
Sultan Ali Khan is an old wrestler who once was at the top of the league. He returns to the ring after a long time and how he wins the battle is the plot of the movie. Salman Khan has aced his performance as the 50-year-old wrestler. The star’s portrayal of a humble aging man is amazing. Anushka has perfectly played the part of Arfa, Sultan’s wife. The dramatic scenes between Sultan and Arfa have been written tightly and portrayed in a crisp manner. Anushka breaks your heart with her pain. The Haryanvi dialects have been adapted well by both the actors. The supporting cast includes Randeep Hooda (Sultan’s coach) and Amit Sadh. Both Hooda and Sadh have stood their grounds firm in the scenes with Salman. They have added to the glory of the movie.
The ultimate Sultan is the script. The writers have done a great job at tightly knitting the script. The screenplay by Aditya Chopra is very crisp. The story is a good blend of the genre Sports and Drama. Director Ali Abbas Zafar finally has a hit in his kitty. The director has done a great job in executing the script. This movie will surely give a boost to his career.
The only flaw in the movie was the run time. The movie seems a little stretched. Other than that, Sultan is a great entertainer.
