Are you married to a Stereotypical Indian Husband?

Those stereotype that a typical Indian husband is the quintessential mother’s boy who expects their wife to wait on them hand and foot whilst raising a family. She should not have a career or have an opinion. And be sure to never disagree with what her husband demands of her. A stereotype is a widely held and oversimplified idea of a type of person or thing. These ideas may or may not accurately reflect reality. Whilst not everyone will conform to a typical stereotype they do hold some substance whether the stereotype is towards a western or ethnic culture. Some husbands are far from the typical Indian Husband stereotype which made their wife fall for them.

How these husbands don’t conform to be a Stereotypical Indian Husband:

  • They Don’t Expect Wife To Do All The Household Chores
They don’t expect wives to be a full-time home keeper. They help as much as they can in house hold chores and even lend a helping hand when their partner is sick.
  • They Even Help Out In The Kitchen At Times
Some husbands actually teach their wife how to make a roti much to the amazement. Most Indian men have never set foot in the kitchen. Although some use to help their mother out in the kitchen at times so they know how to make roti.
  • They Encouraged To Have A Career
If the wife is not working, there are husbands who encourage them all the time to get back into the workforce. This is a breath of fresh air as most Indian men despise the woman working, even in modern India.
  • They Enjoy Having Intelligent Conversations With their Wife
It couldn’t be anything worse than being married to someone who wouldn’t allow having an opinion. Sure at times you won’t always agree with one another though you still can enjoy having somewhat intelligent conversations where both of you have an opinion that counts.
  • They Listen To What Their Wife Say
Most couples argue but they do listen to what she has to say. The most important thing is that you can have a bad day and know that you can talk to him about it without him trying to fix it.
  • He Respects His Mother But Is Also Independent
Every Indian man respects his mother, however, some rely on that relationship too much and it can suffocate a marriage. Why be married to a man who will always side with his mother and treat her as his number one. A mother should be a mother and a wife should be a wife.
